Indigestion is a symptom of problems of the upper gastrointestinal tract – esophagus, stomach, duodenum, gallbladder, and pancreas. These symptoms involve vague feelings of distress after eating or drinking. The symptoms vary from person to person and from time to time. They include a sense of discomfort in the upper abdomen, heartburn, belching, detention or bloating, a sick nauseous feeling, and even pain. Gas formation and intestinal irritation may cause diarrhea. There may be headache and a sensation of mental dullness.
